In collaboration with Retro Release Video and Queer Screams, our monthly Deep Cut Series is proud to welcome grindhouse scream-queen legend Lynn Lowry to the Academy Theater for a screening of the infamous drive-in classic I DRINK YOUR BLOOD!
A bewitching cult icon of the 1970s grindhouse horror explosion, Lynn Lowry is known for her infamous “Infection Trilogy”: I DRINK YOUR BLOOD (1971), George A. Romero’s THE CRAZIES (1973), and David Cronenberg’s SHIVERS (1975).
At 5:30pm, Lynn will be in the lobby for a Meet & Greet with fans alongside local VHS label Retro Release Video, who will have copies of their I DRINK YOUR BLOOD VHS release and more available. After the film, Lynn will join her close friend JT — founder of Queer Screams and a local horror fixture — for a post-screening discussion.
I DRINK YOUR BLOOD (1971): After consuming rabies-infected meat pies, an LSD-addicted hippie cult goes on a vicious murdering rampage! Heavily censored since its original release, this infamous landmark of cinematic brutality will be presented in all its blood-splattered glory via a recent restoration from Grindhouse Releasing.
