On Saturday, June 6th, Academy Theater is excited to present a special screening and debut VHS release of local filmmaker Jacques Boyreau's wild and unique Portland-set horror film BLACK STRAWBERRY!
Released in physical form for the very first time courtesy of local tape label Video Hoarder, you can purchase a limited run copy of Black Strawberry on VHS yourself (which includes a set of awesome Black Strawberry-themed trading cards to boot!) before or after the film screening in our lobby, where we will also be hosting a vendor market featuring Video Hoarder, Jacques Boyreau himself, and various other VHS vendors!
The film will be preceded with a short introduction from the director, followed by short films BLACK TERMINATOR and SOCCER SUSPIRIA (also by Boyreau) and Portland native Rocko Zevenbergen's MEAT LOVERS.
